At the age of 9, Brianna was already swimming a couple of times per week and within a year she was competing at local meets and enjoying success.
At 14 years old, Brianna was selected to represent Australia at the World Junior Championships as a butterfly swimmer and went on to compete the following year in the Junior Pan Pacific Championships and Youth Olympics. At the Youth Olympics, Brianna experienced living in an athlete village and revelled in the experience winning seven Bronze medals.
Her Senior Australian Team debut was the World Short Course Championships which proved to be a major stepping stone in her development as she was called upon to swim relays and came home with a relay medal, motivating her to want more from the sport.
Just missing the podium at 2015 World Championship team inspired her for Rio where she became an Olympic Finalist in 200m Butterfly. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Brianna stepped up onto the podium with the biggest of smiles as an Individual Bronze Medallist in 100m Butterfly and picked up a Gold in 4 x 200m Freestyle relay. At the 2019 World Championships, she continued picking up Gold medals in 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay and 4 x 200m Freestyle relay, breaking the World Record in the latter.
Competing at her 2nd Olympic Games, Brianna again finalled in the 200m Butterfly and bought home a Gold medal in the 4 x 100m Medley Relay and two Bronze medals in two more relays.
