Pacific Games: Fiji Swim Team

The Fiji Swimming Team participated at the Pacific Games in Apia Samoa. The biggest Pacific Games in history was declared, with approximately 5,000 athletes taking part.

The Fiji Swimming team created history with its performance at this Pacific Games, the Swimmers stood on the podium and raised the Fiji Flag 28 times.

6 Gold, 9 Silver and 13 Bronze were won, the highest number of Gold Silver and Bronze since 1963 – a historical moment.

Fiji came 2nd overall in the Swimming out of 15 Nations participating, broke two Pacific Games Records and set 18 Open Fiji Records.

“It was an indeed a proud, emotional, exhilarating, historical, successful and incredible week witnessing our young Swimmers winning medals every single day.” Said Lucy Erasito Fiji Swimming Team Manager.

Adding “The Fiji Swimming Team, Executives, Team Management and Coaches graciously thank you for the Speedo Fastskin race suits and goggles that was provided to the team. Our Fiji Swimming stakeholders were overwhelmed on receipt of the multicolored suits. Speedo’s sponsorship and support is highly valued.”
