When David was 5, he told his teacher his ambition was to swim a lap of Butterfly. His Olympian mother Mandy Morgan nee James taught the swimming obsessed David to swim butterfly and 17 years later, he won an Olympic Bronze medal in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay.
Born in Wales, David’s family moved to Australia when he was 10. With very limited swimming experience, he joined a Club and has been with his coach, Chris Nesbit since he was 13 years old.
David has nine Australian Titles to his name, and has represented Australia at International level on 7 occasions. Of course, his most memorable moment was swimming in the 4x100 medley relay at the Rio Olympics winning a Bronze medal. In his words “ It was such an honour to represent my country on the world stage and race against other world class athletes.- a moment where my hard work paid off “
David has his sights set on the 2018 Commonwealth Games in his home town on the Gold Coast and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
