A talented athlete across many sports as a youngster, Lizzy had good success at a National School Swimming level but continued to pursue other sports representing QLD in water polo. At the age of 12, Lizzy started to swim the gruelling 200m Butterfly and has never been beaten in this event in her age group in Australia.
In 2019, with an eye on Junior National selection, Lizzy chose to pursue swimming full time and at the age of 14 and was rewarded with selection on the Junior Australia Team. As the youngest member of this team she travelled to Budapest for the Junior World Championships where she placed 5th in the 200 Butterfly.
Despite her young age and with strength of character, Lizzy has moved successfully into the Senior Ranks winning her first Open QLD Title in 2021 and winning a silver medal in National Open Championships in 2021, both in 200m Butterfly. She currently holds the Australian and Australian All Comers records in the 200m Butterfly for both 15 and 16 years and we look forward to seeing her represent Australia over the next few years.
