Having been at 2 different programmes over the last 9 years but under the guidance of the same coach and mentor Damien Jones, Tom has developed and cultured his swimming potential. In 2018 he had the privilege of breaking out onto the International stage being selected for the 2018 Junior Pan Pacs in Fiji.
The combination of his love of racing and his pride of representing his Nation drove his motivation to not only be a competitor at International level, but a contender for the title. He proved this true at the 2019 Junior World Championships held in Budapest, where he earned two Silver medals in the 400m and 1500m Freestyle, adding two Bronze medals in the 800m Freestyle and 4x200m relay.
Tom continues to improve his swimming and at the Olympic Trials, he qualified for the Tokyo Olympics giving him the chance to begin representing his country with pride on the senior International stage. He did this with a BANG by anchoring the 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay bringing home a Bronze.
