  • Nickname: Arnie
  • Sporting Idol: Rafael Nadal

  • Biggest challenge: The removal of the tumour in my ovary, Sept 2023. It was the fear that it would interfere with my ability to one day have children that hit me the hardest. The physical challenge to overcome the operation and come back to training less than 12 months out from an Olympic Games was quite daunting, but I am so proud of the way I managed my recovery and bounced back. I learnt a lot from the experience and it put a lot of things in life into perspective.
  • Greatest achievement so far: Winning Olympic Gold in Tokyo
  • Favourite Food: Authentic Italian

Tasmanian Born, Ariarne Titmus has become the star amongst the Dolphins Swim team. Crowned World Champion in 2019, Ariarne pulled off the impossible by handing the five-time Olympic Champion, Katie Ledecky her first international loss in the event in seven years. This unprecedented feat catapulted Titmus to unfamiliar territory, transforming her from the hunter to the hunted. Ariarne thrived on being the hunted and we have since seen 3 years of outstanding performances.

In 2021, Ariarne became a legend in our Sport by taking down the great Katie Ledecky in the highly anticipated 400m Freestyle at the Olympic Games winning Gold. Ariarne went on to win another Gold in the 200m Freestyle, a Silver in the 800m Freestyle and a Bronze in the 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay..

In 2022, Ariarne Titmus broke the women's 400 metre freestyle world record at the 2022 Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide. Her time of 3:56.40 was beaten by Summer Mcintosh in 2023 but in true Ariarne style, when it came down to the battle of the greats, Ariarne smashed the field at the 2023 World Championships and put her name back against the 400m Freestyle World record.

Now in full training to not only repeat but improve on her Tokyo Olympics, Ariarne is fully focussed on Paris.

juggles her time between training and studying for a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science degree. She is a keen foodie and is passionate about health and fitness.
